Ενθρονίζεται ο Κάρολος Γ’, διαδεχόμενος τη μητέρα του, βασίλισσα Ελισάβετ Β’, που απεβίωσε τον περασμένο Σεπτέμβριο. Η σύζυγός του, Καμίλα, θα φέρει πλέον τον τίτλο «βασιλική σύζυγος του βασιλιά Καρόλου Γ’ του Ηνωμένου Βασιλείου».
